Sr, Kassiani Olson, OFH says, "I joined the Monastery of St. Joseph in Aptos, California when I was age 21. I became a professed Poor Clare Colettine Nun in Simple Vows. I left after 6 years and always feeling homesick for the monastery. I then worked in a career until retirement. I first joined the Third Order of Discalced Carmelite in the Santa Clara Chapter and made Life Profession. After 15 years I transferred to the Third Order of Preachers and made Life Profession as a Dominican in the St. Joseph Chapter. After 15 years I had a conversion experience in St. Herman's Russian Orthodox Church (ROCOR) and received Triple Immersion Baptism and rebirth as an Orthodox Christian, overwhelmed with the Holiness I experienced there. My new Baptismal Name is Kassiani, named after a saint who founded a monastery in Constantinople. She was a famous church Hymnographer and poet. I carry a great love for monasticism and all the saints who affected me on my life path. I now live as an "anachorite" (one who lives for God alone), living under obedience to a bishop and an monastic Abbot spiritual father. I live the evangelical councils and a life dedicated to prayer, repentance, and study of the Church Fathers, in solitude and silence, prayer and fasting, penance and contemplation. My picture is the grave pall laid upon the casket of an Orthodox monastic at death"
