Scotland Gallo My dearest sisters and brothers in Christ, our dearly beloved nonagenarian cat, Tallulah, crossed out of this life at about 3:20 today. I was there; I got to say goodbye, and I got to tell her about how when her time came, Sister Death would come. I told her our Sister would gently take her up, and there might be a topsy-turvy moment when everything seemed odd for a second, but soon she would notice she was free of pain, of thirst and confusion. I was there. When our Sister Death came, there was a moment where Brother Sun, who had been hiding all day behind a thick cloud layer, peeked through and lit the tree outside the front window. for a few seconds the world was light brightly and there were beautiful little dancing shadows across Tallulah's face. I was there. I was there for this moment and I have been there for the last 9 years of her life, and I am thankful to God, and thankful to our Brother Francis for his lovely Canticle, which has brought me such peace in this time.
