Dear Associates and Members of the Order of Franciscan Hermits... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! is was on this day, seven years ago on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, that I was inspired to found our Community as an effort to promote Franciscan and Christian Unity through contemplative prayer, compassionate dialogue, fraternal interaction, nonviolent action, and performing the good works asked of us in the Gospel. As Hermits, we cherish substantial silence, substantial solitude, prayer, and penance. The Lord has blessed us with over 2,300 Associates and Members in over 90 countries worldwide... THANK YOU LORD!
It is through the Lord's Grace that I have been invited to Kenya to meet with an Archbishop and several other Bishops to present our Order of Franciscan Hermits Statutes and Constitution with hopes to further promote our OFH Community within their dioceses. Our Spiritual Assistant, Fr. Moses Khisa, OFM Cap. arranged for our initial introduction to the Archbishop for which we are very grateful. I shall arrive on Saturday, June 4th and meet our Brother Joseph Kibunjah who is the Regional Minister of the OFH in Kenya and East Africa. It is through his steadfast commitment to prayer and leadership that has brought so much fruit to our efforts there. He has been coordinating all of our appointments with the Bishops, priests, sisters and OFH Associates and Members I will be meeting in person for the 10 days I'll be there. I cannot adequately express the gratitude I have for all he has done to make this possible... THANK YOU Brother Joseph!
So as I prepare to embark on this very important chapter in our OFH History, I ask for your continued prayers "For the Lord's Will to be done in ALL things"... Always my prayer as it is the only prayer that truly reflects God's desire for us.
PEACE and LOVE Always...
