My dear sister Alta sold the premises in Ferndale and I will sadly be leaving my little hermitage in this coming week. A new Hermitage is being provided by my brother Kenneth and his wife Susan in Mayersdal, Alberton, with occupation from 1st February 2018. In the interim I will be staying with family and friends in Glenvista, Johannesburg which is in close proximity to the more Mulbarton hospital. Thanks to the intercession of our Lady of Guadalupe I have been free from pain since her feast day and have been given the strength and mobility needed to undertake this move. In all things we thank and praise you O Lord! The congenital heart failure and COPD are quite stable with the use of alternative natural medicines in the form of Cannabis Sativa THC/CBD Extract. Conventional medication and treatments had horrific side effects that were almost as bad as the chronic illnesses themselves. My blood pressure can drop quite drastically leading to confusion which aggravates what the doctors refer to as “foggy brain”. The osteoarthritis is of course always in the background as a reminder of younger days when I thought myself invincible. The operations to remove the cataracts in the eyes with new lenses was an amazing success and I continue to wonder at the beautiful colours that has returned with my new vision. Thanks to the support of the Knights of da Gama, the web page for spirituality, gospel reflections and Sunday homilies over the last five years has been supplemented by pod casts through Spreaker and You-tube over this last year. A big thank you also to those who have sent me comments or critique on my work; this is always greatly appreciated. Come, Holy Spirit, and remove our spiritual blindness. Help us to struggle against ourselves, that we, too, may arrive at sanctity. We must also, however, enter into that struggle for the right reason, namely, the Honor and Glory of God and not our own personal glory. Today, Lord, I thank You for the many examples of this struggle and sanctity set before us through the saints in their numerous charisms.
