As a Franciscan hermit, solitary and contemplative in the St Francis Hermit Ministry of the ECC+USA I am delighted to come across this site. I would be interested to know more about the Order of Hermits....what qualifies one to join etc?

Hello Fra Charles... WELCOME to Our new website! Currently I am just trying to collect and assemble existing information about Franciscan Hermits on the web... everyone is welcome to be listed. Since you're the first person to inquire, I added a new "Hermits" page and added the information I found about you on the web. I hope it is ok to have what I posted.

Please review your information and let me know if you have any additions/corrections etc. (Perhaps a email address if you would like to share it)

in the future perhaps an official "Order of Franciscan Hermits" can be formed, but at this point I'm just trying to gather resources for all of us who are part of the Franciscan Family.

How lovely to hear back from you so soon! I am very interested in your plans and would be pleased to have some part in it. I guess there might potentially be a varied mix of solitaries/hermits who may show an interest and that an entirely ecumenical standpoint would have to exist with regard to membership of any prospective Order? It seems to me to be very useful and supportive to have an 'umbrella' community which is there for support if needed and fosters a sense of both belonging and unity of purpose, whatever the personal Rule or background of any particular 'member'. I believe the Order would provide a meeting place for like-minded souls, common ground for those who feel called to the solitary contemplative life, blessed by the Franciscan charism, of whatever persuasion. I am very happy for you to include my details etc on the site. Please feel free to contact me further.
